Personal Details

Michael was born in Wokingham in 1952 and lives in Woodley. He married his wife Linda in 1973, their wedding reception was held in the Flavell Suite, Sindlesham Court, Mole Road, Sindlesham.

Linda and Michael have 3 children, 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Michael enjoys watching football and plays golf occasionally.

Careers

His working career was varied, starting out as an apprentice hairdresser, moving on to retail store management with Keymarkets Supermarkets and FADS Decorating Stores, followed by a career in advertising sales with the Thames Valley Autotrader, finally as a software sales manager with ESRI UK Ltd. He retired in 2014.

Masonic Journey

He was initiated into the Berkshire St David’s Lodge in February 1981, installed as Worshipful Master in April 1993, and subsequently again in 2006 and 2023. He was exalted into Berkshire St David’s Chapter and is a member of Donnington Castle Rose Croix.

He enjoys being an active member of the Provincial Support Group, helping other lodges who require a stand-in officer for a ceremony or with a particular piece of ritual.

Michael has occupied the majority of lodge officer roles during his 45 years in Masonry. He still attends as many LOI’s as possible and is a strong believer in that the more effort and encouragement we put into our LOI the better our newer members will enjoy their journey in Masonry.
