Windsor Castle Lodge raised £5,000.00 for the Thames Hospice in Windsor, which provides end-of-life care to terminally ill patients across East Berkshire, and into South Buckinghamshire. The Lodge has had a 10 year relationship with the Hospice (they also help to provide volunteer Stewards and Marshalls for the Hospice’s events). With other funds already donated that now total £7,500.00
Peter Mason, who was Master of the Lodge when the funds were raised said, “We made a big push amongst our members to try and get as much as we possibly could, partly towards the aim of buying new beds needed by the Hospice. Although the Hospice of course will allocate the funds as they see fit. Freemasons from all walks of life make up our membership and they give their own money. As much as their circumstances allow.”
Claire Redrup, Head of Public Fundraising at Thames Hospice said, “I want to give a huge thank you to our wonderful friends, the Freemasons of Windsor, for their incredible donation today. Their long-term support of the Hospice spans more than 10 years. Quite simply, we couldn’t provide our services to the local community without partnerships like these.”
