The TLC Teddies and the Big Help Out

by Brian Page

On Monday 8th May, and as part of the Big Help Out, TLC Teddies for Loving Care volunteers for Abingdon are running a display and awareness stand at the Minor Injuries Unit, based at Abingdon Hospital.

Abbey Lodge member Gavin McCoy FRSA; PProvGCO and wife Ingrid supply the hospital with more than 100 TLC Teddies every single month.

Across the Country, Freemasons have already provided 3.5M TLC Teddies to healthcare centres. The Teddies help to calm distressed children during visits or treatment in hospitals or clinics.

The staff say that the Teddies are very effective in relaxing a distressed child.

Gavin & Ingrid will be at the hospital from 11 AM until 3 PM on Monday the 8th and giving away specially produced limited edition orange TLC Teddy Bears to patients and visitors.

“We would invite and welcome any Brethren and families to come and say hello at the hospital.” Says, Gavin.
