Saturday 11th October 2025 marked a vibrant and inspiring start to the new Masonic season as over 70 Brethren and Companions gathered for the Annual Mentors Forum, hosted by the Provincial Grand Mentor for Berkshire, W Bro Owen Doe, and his dedicated team.
Held at the Berkshire Masonic Centre, the event had 84 registered attendees, including Lodge Mentors, Chapter Mentors, and Personal Mentors, all united by a shared commitment to strengthening the mentoring culture across the Province.
The morning began with a hearty full English breakfast, setting a warm and convivial tone for the session ahead. With plates cleared and spirits lifted, the Forum launched into a series of informative presentations, interactive discussions, and practical insights designed to equip Mentors with the tools and confidence to support their Lodges and Chapters more effectively.
Highlights included:
- The unveiling of new mentoring initiatives for the 2025–26 season
- The updated Mentoring Matters webpages
- A walkthrough of the updated Mentors Handbook, shaped by member contributions
- The introduction of Lodge and Personal Mentor cards that will direct them to essential and useful information to enhance the roles and responsibilities.
- Guidance on embedding mentoring into everyday Lodge and Chapter life
- Opportunities to share best practices and build collaborative networks

W Bro Owen Doe emphasised the importance of visibility, continuity, and compassion in mentoring, noting:
“Mentoring is not just a role, it’s a responsibility to uplift, guide, and inspire. Today’s Forum proves that when we come together with purpose, we can build something truly lasting for our members and our Province.”
The event was met with enthusiastic feedback, with many attendees expressing renewed motivation and practical takeaways to implement in their own units.
This year’s Forum reaffirmed that mentoring is not only alive in Berkshire, it’s thriving.
