LMO BBQ held at Wallingford

by Peter Wells

The Berkshire LMO Group held a BBQ at Wallingford on Sunday 14th August ’22.  They extended the LMO ‘sausage’ to the Berkshire Mentors as well.  In all 50 people attended on the day and a lovely spread was put on by Colin Gilbey who helps run the Wallingford Centre.  We were taken into the main Lodge Room and anyone who’s not seen it before I think you’ll find it very impressive.  We were transported to a high ceilinged hall and found ourselves stood in a mini-museum of Masonic artefacts.  Which, they apparently have the official Museum upstairs, where there’s yet more to see.

We were lucky to be joined by the current Provincial Membership Officer Iain Marnock, ‘the boss’ AND the incoming (elect?) Prov Membership Officer Steve Corston ‘new boss’.  With the Pro Mentor Clive Hitchen also attending it was a fun day and well supported by our leaders.  If you’ve never seen the Centre at Wallingford, it’s well worth the journey.  You’ll receive a warm welcome and they have a bar and kitchen, all in house.  Parking is very nearby also.  Should you receive an invitation to a Wallingford event you should definitely go and see the place.
