The DPGM entered to thunderous silence!
On Wednesday 27th March, The Gourmet Lodge held its second meeting of the 2023/2024 masonic year. The meeting was held at The Phyllis Court Club in Henley- there were 28 members and a similar number of guests in attendance.
The meeting was graced with the presence of W Bro Mark Heppelthwaite, the Deputy Provincial Grand Master. He was escorted into the Lodge by W Bro Bob Spooner the Provincial Deputy Director of Ceremonies. His entrance was received with thunderous silence until he sat down, thereafter every move received tremendous applause. Following the entrance of the DPGM, every visitor and Grand Officer received a well-deserved round of applause.
Phyllis Court, a private members club was the venue for this meeting. The club was founded in 1906 and has been through various guises over the last 100 years until it now. The Lodge was hosted in the Finlay Suite and used the Ball room for the Festive Board. Both proved excellent rooms for the meeting and the Club excelled in its service and food.

The main business of the meeting was to elect a new master for the ensuing year and, W Bro Peter Moody Past Assistant Grand Master of Buckinghamshire was unanimously elected. In addition, two new joining members, W Bros Luke Smith and Peter Hopkins were admitted to the Lodge. This brings our membership up to 28 which is almost the limit as described in our constitution.

At the conclusion of the meeting and before a wonderful Festive Board, the above photograph of the Lodge members and guests, was taken.
