ETONIAN LODGE OF ST JOHN makes further donations to local charities

Etonian Lodge of St John has continued its support for local charities and were very proud to make donations of £1,000 each to SHOC and Blood Bikes:

SHOC (Slough Homeless Our Concern) is a day centre that exists to provide care for the homeless in Slough and the surrounding area and to those at risk of becoming so. It is the only centre within a 20-mile radius that offers the homeless both crisis care and long-term transformational help towards independence.

Since it was formed 25 years ago it has helped over a thousand people. Their focused and dedicated work has been recognized by awards from the Slough Mayor’s Charity of the Year, and the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service.

Blood Bikes are a national voluntary charity who deliver urgently needed blood & other medical necessities wherever they are needed 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week.

SERV OBN is the local volunteer organisation of Blood Bikes, that supports NHS Hospitals in the Oxford, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Northamptonshire areas. Using its dedicated fleet of motorcycles and 4 x 4 vehicles it provides a rapid response courier service, out of hours, delivering blood products to the point of need. They also provide support for the neonatal units collecting and delivering human milk to give premature babies the best start in life.

W Bro Mick Shoard, IPM of The Etonian Lodge of St John today presented a cheque from the Lodge for £1,000.00 to Kamran Irani, the Chairman of Blood Bikes & a fellow brother who was kind enough to attend the presentation at the Windsor Masonic Centre.
