Tilehurst Support Group, Craft Without Borders, were delighted to receive a donation from both Pangbourne Lodge and the Berkshire Masonic Charity (BMC) totalling £1,300 to help with their projects in providing knitted items for the children of Ukraine and in the Royal Berks Hospital. The group, who meet twice a week at Tilehurst United Reform Church, in Armour Road, Tilehurst, are formed of some 40 ladies whose knitting expertise is second to none. They delight in knitting a wide range of items such as blankets, comfort dolls, hats, clothing and toys that they ship to Ukraine to help boost the morale of the war-torn children.
The presentation was made by Pangbourne Lodge’s Charity Steward, David Wilford, (centre) and the Lodge’s Secretary, Ray Lloyd (on right).
Jane Organ, the Fundraising Organiser, said, “It’s wonderful that the Pangbourne Lodge and the Berkshire Freemasons has recognised the work we do to support each other and the help we give to the wider community. We really appreciate this recognition. As we often say, “Together we can make a difference”, but with this financial support we will certainly be able to make a bigger impact.”
