Bring on the Membership Challenge!

by Peter Wells

Back in November I launched the “Membership Challenge” with a short video sent to every member of every Lodge.  If you have received the video and not watched it yet, I urge you to do so, if you have not received it, please let me know.

The videos were specific to each lodge and introduced the membership challenge ahead.  Within the video there was an overview and conclusion from myself outlining what the membership challenge is and two graphs showing the average number of members per Lodge in the Province and specifically the trends of your lodge since 2017 along with a projection to assist you with your planning.

The next stage of the process is a follow up meeting with a member of the Provincial Executive. This involves an informal discussion in each of your Lodges (normally an LOI) with as many members as possible attending. The purpose is for you to share your views on what you are doing as a lodge to retain and grow your membership. We hope we can also discuss what support you might need to achieve this and where possible, how you can support others.

We have been contacting secretaries around the Province to set dates for these informal sessions, and since the video was released, we have completed 10 sessions. These have been extremely useful for everyone involved and the feedback has been positive.  The meetings will all hopefully be complete by the end of March 2024.

To make sure you get your chance to have your say, please ask your secretary what date your meeting will be held and come along and get involved.

Brethren, the Membership Challenge is a marathon not a sprint and I thank you all in advance for your support over the coming months and years ahead.

Bring on the Membership Challenge!
