Bershire Masters in Wallingford

by Peter Wells

Berkshire Installed Masters Lodge goes on the road.

Just under 80 Brethren were packed into Wallingford Masonic Centre for the meeting of Berkshire Installed Masters Lodge. W Bro Iain Marnoch represented our Provincial Grand Master for Berkshire Freemasons along with other members of the provincial executive who were present.

Our WM, W Bro Robin Kent opened the meeting and explained that it is the first time the lodge has been on the road since its inauguration. The progressive lodge offices are all Light Blues which is yet another sign of the innovative approach our WM has taken.

The main highlight was a talk by W Bro Tony Henley on the Silver Match Box. He also spoke about the emulation lodge of improvement and the rational behind emulation workings. It was interactive with the Brethen and culminated in the working of the First Lecture – section one, with many brethren playing a part.

W Bro Tony very kindly donated any charitable fees to a member of the lodge who is riding in Normandy to celebrate 80 years since D- day.

It was a very impressive talk by W Bro Tony.

The festive board was very convivial with all of us wondering how we can get to silver matchbox Standard.

Thank you all for a true Berkshire Masonic Day.
