Saturday saw the meeting of arguably one of Berkshires prestigious lodges, the Berkshire Masters Lodge. With W Bro Robin Kent in the WM’s chair, our brethren enjoyed a delightful full English breakfast in the Flavell Suite before attending a memorable lodge meeting. The highlight was the moving presentation by W Bro Glenn Kapel on his recent fundraising challenge in the Arunachal Pradesh Himalayan Rainforest.
Glenn’s courageous 10-day jungle expedition in the primary jungle and foothills of the Himalayas was not just a personal feat but a heartfelt effort to raise funds for Brain Tumour Research Charity in loving memory of his late wife, Penny. The emotional journey he shared with us truly touched our hearts, which was amply demonstrated by the Lodge members donating a magnificent £500 to the charity. This brings the fundraising total to £8470 against a target of £10,000. Brethren of Berkshire please help to achieve this target.
