Berkshire Masonic Charity donate £1500 to purchase defibrillator in honour of the loss of beloved Berkshire Mason W Bro Vic Comley

In November last year, W Bro Vic Comley was tragically killed in a road accident opposite his home where he had lived for most of his life. Vic was due to celebrate fifty years in Berkshire Craft masonry in February this year as well as receiving a meritorious award for his services to the Royal Arch. He was a member of Alfred the Great Lodge 8617 and The Lloyd Lindsay Chapter 3058.

Vic’s house was opposite the Charlton Garden Centre in Wantage and on that tragic evening the staff at the garden centre did their best to assist when the accident occurred.

Vic was well known and a respected character in and around the Wantage area. He was a passionate freemason and gave much of his time to mentoring and helping the younger brethren with their ritual.

To celebrate his life the Berkshire Masonic Charity donated £1500 to purchase a defibrillator to be installed at the garden centre with a inscribed plaque to commemorate his life in Vic’s memory.

The photograph shows W Bro Roger Goodchild with Phil Stephenson, Garden Centre Manager and Ray Collins of the Ray Collins Charity Trust who donated the defibrillator case. Burwell Electrical also provided the installation free of charge.
