The donation will directly assist the charity’s mission to provide a ‘bridge’ to independence for vulnerable individuals aged 16–25. Bridge for Young People operates several housing projects in West Berkshire, most recently opening Wessex House in Newbury, where residents receive stable accommodation alongside tailored support to master essential life skills such as money management, cooking, and emotional resilience.
“We are delighted to support such a transformative local cause,” said Paul Wilding, Charity Steward of Thatcham Lodge. “The work being done to ensure young people in our community do not fall into the cycle of homelessness is invaluable, and we are honoured to contribute to their journey toward successful independent living”.
A spokesperson for Bridge for Young People added, “Your support truly makes a difference to the young people we work with. Helping us continue to provide vital services, safe spaces, and life-changing opportunities”
The funds will be used to help cover essential house maintenance, welfare costs, and personal development programmes for the charity’s residents.
