Abbey Lodge and Abbey Royal Arch Chapter from Abingdon, each made a grant to cover the printing of publicity for “Ride 22”. The event was the brainchild of Tasha, the granddaughter of an Abingdon Freemason. Tasha wanted to commemorate what would have been her brother Conor’s 18th birthday and at the same time to raise funds for PAPYRUS UK, a charity working to prevent young suicides.

The event, which took place at The Alfred’s Head in Wantage, was a 10-hour outdoor live music festival; in addition, there was a variety of local craft and goodie stalls, a tombola and a raffle.

Tasha pictured with her daughter Bella during the event, had this to say the next morning:

“Thank you so much to everyone for coming to support us yesterday… It was a fantastic day and we are all knackered today!!! We have raised over £3,500 and that does not include any donations you lovely lot have given directly to Papyrus!!! Thank you so muchWe still have T-Shirts available to buy £5 each… Med, large and XL. Plus sweetie cones if anyone would like to buy some”.
