Berkshire Freemason serenades the NHS

by Neill Rhodes

Barry Elford from The Loyal Berkshire Lodge of Hope, together with his wife and a little bit of help from the Beatles wrote and then sung a song call Thank you NHS.

The backing tune is the Beatles Let it Be, but the words are all by Barry and his wife. They reflect their views and thoughts of the tremendous work the doctors, nurses and all other people in the NHS have done throughout this Covid-19 period. He felt their sterling work needed recognising and the best way was to do it in a song!

Sitting down at the table with his wife, he gathered his thoughts and then the magic flowed. The chorus was written first then the rest just fell into place. A few weeks later, whilst having their dinner and listening to Radio Berkshire their song came across the airwaves.
