Berkshire Companions @ Supreme Grand Chapter

Fifty five Companions travelled from the four corners of deepest Berkshire to Covent Garden in London to attend Supreme Grand Chapter. Once again, this was a tremendous turnout, and we heard a superb presentation from E Comp Mark Smith (of BBC Antiques roadshow fame) on the highest award for gallantry, the Victoria Cross. It was incredibly humbling to hear that of the 643 recipients of the VC in WW1, 64 (10%) were Freemasons. This was followed by the customary fun festive board at the Concert Artistes’ club. Rumours that a double G&T costing only £3.50 of course had no bearing on the popularity of this central London venue! If you are a Master Mason and want to continue your journey into the Royal Arch, and be eligible to join us at future events, please speak to your lodge RA representative.
