Backlog of Passing ceremonies?

by Brian Page

Following the ending of the restrictions imposed during the Covid pandemic, many lodges around the province have seen a welcome influx of new membership applications. This has resulted in a significant number of Initiates facing a long wait for their lodge to Pass them as Fellow Crafts and subsequently to Raise them to the sublime degree of Master Mason.

To tackle this backlog and support Lodges across the Province a special ceremony day is being held on Saturday 22nd October 2022 at the Berkshire Masonic Centre. This unique event will enable Lodges to hold passing ceremonies at the Centre for their candidates under their own Lodge banner, concluding with all participants coming together to witness the Berkshire Provincial Grand Stewards Lodge deliver a second degree ceremony. The finale of the ceremony being ALL the newly passed candidates having the explanation of the second degree tracing board presented to them altogether.
All candidates will receive from the RW PGM a personalised gift to mark their second regular step in Freemasonry at this special event.
Following the ceremonies a lunch will be held in the Flavell Suite chaired by the RW PGM.

The Province is very willing to subsidise this event which will mean that there will be no dispensation fees plus Sindlesham Court wish to waive any voluntary contribution fee for the day!

A final word from the RW Provincial Grand Master for Berkshire

“ Brethren, this is an ideal opportunity for your new members, I recommend you log your interest for this very special and unique ceremony day without any delay”

RW Bro Anthony Howlett-Bolton, Provincial Grand Master.

If your Lodge is interested in this new concept and have candidates for passing please register your interest HERE WBro Matthew Walker APGM apgm2@berkspgl.org.uk
