THEALE ON HOLYBROOK LODGE 8663
This Lodge was consecrated on Tuesday 30th September 1975 when Brethren from the Aldermaston Lodge 2760 our Mother Lodge, created a new Lodge. At that time both Lodges would meet at the Aldermaston Village Hall. The Founders of the Lodge then deciding on the form and practices of the Lodge for the future.
The Lodge Banner and logo depicts Holy Trinity Church in the village of Theale, which was a prominent local landmark at the time, modelled on Salisbury Cathedral and had been painted by John CONSTABLE. The Holybrook is a tributary of the river Kennet flowing through the village, then runs parallel to it south of Reading before meeting up again, flowing through the town and joining the Thames near Woodley.

The nature of Masonry being based on personal recommendation and mutual interests it naturally encompasses the normal family ties. Fathers, sons, grandsons, brothers, nephews and cousins, there have been over 14 such combinations during the last 48 years.

There are, at present, three such bonds within the Lodge and our current Director of Ceremonies is also the Grandson of one of the founders, Vernon COLES D.S.M.

Theale on Holybrook now meet at the Newbury Masonic Hall in London Road, Newbury, every first Thursday of the months from October to March. The Installation meeting being held in December annually. There is a formal meal known as the festive board following those six meetings.
Throughout the year Lodges of Instruction are held on the last Thursday of each month, where the Brethren learn the work required to hold any Office within the Lodge for the ensuing year. These evenings also cement the friendships and comradery found in all Lodges. Social events are held during the year to include family and friends in the welcoming spirit of the Fraternity.
Theale on Holybrook is known for its distinct variations in our ceremonies, whilst complying with the form required by the United Grand Lodge of England, they are uniquely interesting and hopefully entertaining for the enjoyment of our guests.
The Lodge meet on the first Thursday each month October, November, December (Installation), January, February, March
